Although contextually, our text was part of
a song that King David directed to God, there is also a truth here that can also
apply to our lives today. Regardless of the distance between you, true
friends will care about you and stick with you in your good times as well as your
trials whereas strangers (those who you thought were your friends but really aren't) will not. However, even the best of friends will occasionally fail you but Jesus Christ never will. He'll be a Friend that sticks closer than a brother would (Prov 18:24).
